School programmes

This report focuses on the importance of frontline services which directly support families: schools. Most children in England spend more than 30 hours at school per week. Some families look to teachers as a source of support in many aspects of life, educational and noneducational – including online life.

Based on three real-life stories of young people whose lives have been affected by radicalisation, Act Early Stories includes powerful videos and ready to use session slides, designed to spark discussion and support vulnerable young people. To help build confidence and reduce workload it also contains guidance notes, so teachers and youth workers can either use the entire session or individual activities.

Programme by the Anne Frank Trust UK designed to help young people understand the dangers of prejudice and discrimination – particularly online, where they are being increasingly exposed to hate speech.

The programme teaches young people about Anne Frank’s life and the Holocaust, while also raising awareness of contemporary issues of prejudice and discrimination by relating Anne’s story to modern scenarios.

To help young people tackle social pressures on body image and develop self-confidence the Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign has teamed up with ASOS to launch #MySenseOfSelf. As part of this project, we have created a lesson plan for teachers or staff members to use.

Be Smart is a free internet safety, peer to peer led programme. It is delivered by a teacher to a group of senior students, those students are then empowered to deliver the programme throughout the school to all other students in their school.

UK based Workshops organised by Google and YouTube to walk through some vital tips and skills that can help you young people use the internet safely and in a positive way.

The package offers five age-appropriate interactive and engaging lessons for five different year groups: Year 7 - Self Esteem, Year 8 - Bullying, Year 9 - Sex and Relationships, Year 10 - Sexting, Year 11 - Abuse.

Backed by the DfE and co-founded and with tootoot, we've created an online resource & reporting tool for bullying and cyberbullying as part of an anti-bullying programme.

The project aims to develop social and emotional learning skills as a means of building resilience in young people so that they can better understand and become more responsible and effective for their on- and offline social interactions.

The Anti-Bullying Ambassador programme provides anti-bullying training to schools and Youth Organisations in the UK and Ireland.

Childnet's programme aims to empower children and young people to champion digital citizenship and digital creativity within their schools and to educate their peers, parents and teachers about staying safe online.
