Internet Matters joins forces with Samsung to offer families vital online safety advice during lockdown

Working together, we have transformed our online safety workshop into a video series that focuses on educating parents about online safety as well as providing them with the tools, resources and practical tips to support their families.

The online safety workshops explained

The workshop helped parents and carers get to grips with both the benefits and the risks of the online world.
It also offered families hands-on experience with some of the safety features available across Samsung devices, such as Kids Mode and SafeToNet, and helped them learn how to take advantage of them.

‘Keeping Kids Safe Online’ video series

Following its success, we have teamed up once again to help families during lockdown and have moved their joint workshops online. Internet Matters’ Head of Digital Ghislaine Bombusa is running a three-part online video series to support families, during this time.
The handy video guides, which are no more than six minutes each, break down the information for busy parents and carers into simple bite-size content.
The ‘Keeping Kids Safe Online’ video series includes three videos on What you need to know about online safety to support your family, Practical tips to support your family and finally, Tools and resources to support your family.

CEO of Internet Matters Carolyn Bunting said: “Internet Matters and Samsung are proud partners and have been working together over the past year to help ensure the safety of young users.

“We hope this online series will help families get the most of their technology and help them make the most out of the time they spend on it.

“Online safety must remain a priority – especially as we’ve come to rely on tech more than ever during these unprecedented times.”

Jessie Soohyun Park, Head of CSR at Samsung Electronics UK, said: “Following the fantastic response to our online safety workshop earlier this year, we are delighted to continue our close partnership with Internet Matters and offer further support to parents and carers through this new digital series.

“These online workshops form a part of Samsung’s new ‘Stay Learning’ series, available on the Samsung KX website to support children’s education and safety at this time. Through them we hope to highlight the many features available to families to ensure they’re staying safe across our range of connected devices.

“We believe strongly in the positive power of technology and as young users are turning to their devices more than ever during this time to help them learn, communicate and relax, ensuring their well-being has never been more important.”
