What is Fortnite?
Fortnite is the world’s third largest esports game with users from all over the world. It has three modes: Save the World, Battle Royale and Creative. Users can play on Playstation, XBox, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile, making it accessible to a wide online gaming audience.
The most popular mode is Battle Royale. In this mode, 100 players are dropped onto a map and must scavenge for weapons in order to defeat each other. It can be played as an individual or in groups of 2-4 players.
Chapter 3 continues the story within Battle Royale and, like chapters 1 and 2, is divided into seasons. The seasons last several months and develop the main storyline.
How is Chapter 3 Flipped different?
At the end of Chapter 2 New World, the island on the game’s map flipped. As a result, users have a brand new map to explore. Players will quickly notice that the map this season is covered in snow. They should watch out for destructive weather like tornadoes and lightning in their gameplay.
In Chapters 1 and 2, the general layout of the maps was the same with the addition of new areas. However, the layout in Chapter 3 is completely different, which means long-time players need to get used to the new map just like new players.
There are also some new game mechanics, including different weapon types, healing options and new skins. These additions keep veteran users interested and returning for more.
What makes Fortnite so popular?
Fortnite Battle Royale took the world by storm in 2017. It features characters from popular culture (like Spider-Man in Chapter 3) as well as celebrities such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ariana Grande and Harry Kane. The use of seasons in each chapter and the introduction of new characters and new weapons or gaming features keeps Fortnite exciting.
Additionally, players can participate in regular tournaments and competitive cups with real cash prizes. The online game is fairly lucrative for some streamers or skilled users who play regularly.
Is Fortnite safe for kids?
Although the Fortnite has a PEGI rating of 12, users are not asked their age when signing up. Users can also anonymously communicate with players from all over the world regardless of age. While this offers great opportunities for socialising, it can become dangerous if misused.
There are a variety of parental controls available in-game to keep children safe online. These include controls to manage mature language, accept friend requests, participate in voice chats and more. Additionally, each platform and the Epic Games Store has its own set of controls that parents can set to limit in-game spending.
Every user must also follow the game’s terms and conditions, including asking parents’ permission for in-game spending. Breaking the game rules may lead to users getting banned from playing.
With anything that your child does online, open conversations about their interests in addition to setting parental controls can help keep them safe.
