- Dr Linda to head up new online hub What The Experts Say
- She joins a panel of 17 experts offering specialist guidance to concerned parents
- It comes as 67% of parents say their child’s online safety is a major concern
- But 39% confess they don’t agree they’re fully equipped to keep their children safe online
London, March 11, 2017– Internet Matters launches its new interactive parent section What The Experts Say today, which will be headed up by highly-esteemed psychologist and TV personality Dr Linda Papadopoulos.
The new hub will allow parents to get tailored advice from a broad range of experts on online issues that they are most concerned about.
It comes as research found that 67% of parents agreed that their child’s online safety was a major concern but 39% don’t agree they are fully equipped with the right tools and information to keep their child safe online*.
And in a survey of 1,500 parents* 29% agree online risks to children’s safety are more dangerous than those they face in every day.
Linda, who specialises in self-esteem and the psychological effects of growing up in a digital age, will be on hand to provide expert analysis to parents on the impact of online issues such as cyberbullying, sexting and body-image.
A respected research scientist, Dr Linda was named as one of London’s top 20 therapists by The Evening Standard and regularly appears on Sky News, This Morning, Channel 5 and ITN. She manages to this squeeze in between being a mother, a lecturer, an author and a practising psychologist.
Dr Linda will be joined by 17 of the UK’s most respected, best-informed industry experts to give straightforward, practical advice to parents.
Parents will be able to vote for which questions the specialists can help with – using social media or getting in touch directly through the Internet Matters website.
A Q&A article will be published every fortnight based on the topic chosen by parents.
Parents will be able to search the hub to read previous Q&As to already posted and engage with the experts and one another by sharing comments on the advice given.
