Google online safety resources for families

To help families stay safe online, Google is supporting us to get parents more engaged in their children digital lives.

There are a number of ways that Google is already giving families a helping hand to stay safe online.

From its Safety Centre to the Internet Legends programme, there are many ways that Google can help children stay safe on its platforms and throughout the net.

This is a great tool for families to get practical advice on how to protect their children online. It is filled with a number of useful e-safey tips and simple guides to get parental contols set up on different platforms and much more.

There is also a video section called “Tips from parents at Google” which gives an insight on how they manage their children’s safety online.[/im_icon_block]

This programme is designed as a new way to get primary school children inspired to take control of their digital lives.

Along with Parent Zone, Google visits schools around the UK to give assemblies and get children to learn the ‘Legends Code’, giving them the empower skills they need to stay safe and act responsibly online.[/im_icon_block]

Great for young kids, this child-friendly version filters out inappropriate content and hides comments on videos giving parents peace of mind and a child a safer online viewing experience. See the parental guide to learn more about the app’s features.[/im_icon_block]

This tool can help you block inappropriate or explicit images from your Google Search results. The SafeSearch filter isn’t 100% accurate, but it helps you avoid most adult content.[/im_icon_block]
