What we are doing together
The first year of the partnership will see us working collaboratively to develop wider campaigns that will equip parents and teenagers with the knowledge and tools to help everyone enjoy the internet as safely as possible.
Utilising controls and tech tools
Three will look to bring new insight from research and content into its already successful Discovery programme – an in-store initiative which offers free training and workshops on digital and mobile technology to all individuals, communities and businesses, regardless of age or network.
As sponsors of Internet Matters gaming research Three have created some top tips that address parents’ concerns, as well as a new gaming course for schools to complement the online safety courses already on offer from Discovery. As a key concern with gaming and online activity using mobiles is bill shock, Three have enabled their customers to control all additional spend (like in app purchases).
Empowering people with practical support
Three wants to help unlock all the benefits and fun of mobile devices through better understanding of some of the more negative aspects. Rather than discourage internet and mobile use, our combined resources will show that when used safely the online world can be a limitless resource of fun, education and empowerment.
Three has created an online safety hub that provides advice on data protection, security, fraud, content filtering and support for parents which helps to raise awareness of the wealth of resources available from Internet Matters.
